Melissa I. Wilson taught in public elementary schools for thirty years before becoming the co-director of the Columbus Area Writing Project (CAWP) while pursuing a doctorate degree. Since receiving her degree she continues to direct the CAWP and is an instructor in the early childhood teacher education program at the Ohio State University. Her research interests include language use in teacher education programs and writing with young children.
