The Center for Discourse Analysis and Video Ethnography (CDAVE) Fellows program seeks to support diverse voices in the field of discourse analysis. It will provide mentoring, networking, and professional development funds for selected doctoral students from the College of Education and Human ecology who are interested in the study of discourse analysis. CDAVE fellows program also includes community and socialization into the field of discourse analysis.
CDAVE Fellows will be provided opportunities to
- attend CDAVE’s bi-annual invitation-only Discourse Analysis conference
- interact with CDAVE’s international partners
- network and participate in the planning of D-table talks, informal interview conversations with leading scholars in the field of discourse analysis
- connect with diverse community stakeholders and participate in the facilitation of Community Teach-Ins
Goals of CDAVE fellows’ program is to:
- Innovate the field of discourse analysis and foster a community inclusive of diverse and new voices.
- Support and nurture young scholars who want to engage critically conscious discourse analysis scholarship thoughtfully.
- Provide opportunities for young scholars to network with other scholars in the field of discourse analysis.
- Assist young scholars in exploring how language can be used to understand human interactions, particularly regarding power, personhood, equity, and inclusion.
CDAVE fellows are instrumental in supporting CDAVE’s mission and vision.
