We ASPIRE TO:
- Be a multidisciplinary space where graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, faculty, undergraduates, and community members can interact, collaborate, and advance research on discourse analysis.
- Provide practical and intellectual resources and spaces for stake holders to use discourse analysis and video ethnography to explore and better understand issues and areas of challenge around what people do with language and how they use it.
- Support and nurture faculty and students who want to build a research agenda around discourse analysis and video ethnography, particularly as it relates to issues of power, personhood, humanity, equity and inclusion.
- Raise awareness of the important role that discourse analysis and video ethnography can play in helping us to better understand human interactions around language. Not only what we do with our language and how we use it, but what/ how we can see through language and the implications and meaning of our seeing.
