Our Mission
The Center for Discourse Analysis and Video Ethnography (CDAVE) is located in the Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology’s Department of Teaching and Learning. The center provides a multidisciplinary intellectual space for those interested in understanding how language can be used to better understand human interactions, particularly as it relates to power, personhood, and issues of equity and inclusion.
CDAVE is committed to innovative excellence and partnering with local educational stakeholders and communities as well as a national and global community of scholars who are interested in researching some of the world’s most intractable challenges. CDAVE supports research and scholarship on language and human interactions across educational teaching and learning contexts in schools and communities through discourse analysis and video ethnography.
